The School

Montessori Schoolhouse is a private, non-denominational, co-educational, international American school for children aged 18 months to 12 years.

Our school ensures learning for all students within the framework of Montessori pedagogical practices and principles, founded on respecting each child’s unique and individual development, and responds to the emotional, social, and cognitive needs of the child during each stage of development.

Children progress academically through the Montessori curriculum while attaining the educational outcomes dictated by the official La Rioja syllabuses.

Located in Logroño, the capital of La Rioja, Montessori Schoolhouse was founded in 2015 as an initiative to provide families in La Rioja with an educational model different from all pre-existing options for Early Childhood and Elementary education in the area.  Since opening in September of 2015 with classes up to the second year of preschool, the school has grown consistently and currently has children enrolled up to sixth grade, marking the completion of Spanish Elementary education.

Montessori Schoolhouse Logroño, as an international school, is authorized by the Consejería de Educación de La Rioja, complying with the regulations that govern foreign educational institutions in Spain. Additionally, as an American school, we are accredited by the prestigious U.S. agency, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). As a Montessori school, we are part of the Montessori Quality Assurance Program, which establishes standards for the implementation of the Montessori methodology according to AMI principles in Spain, and recognizes schools that meet these criteria.
